Where Authenticity and Growth Meets Impact

You’ve spent years leading through challenge, transition, uncertainty, and responsibility. But sustainable leadership isn’t about holding everything together alone. It’s about learning how to lead with clarity, alignment, adaptability, and humanity — especially in complex environments.

At The AG Effect, we believe leadership grows stronger when leaders are grounded in self-awareness, connected to their values, and supported in becoming more intentional in how they lead and live.

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response”
-Viktor Frankl

Executive Coach I Leadership Development Advisor| Former Federal Executive

Angela Gladwell, ACC is an executive coach, leadership development advisor, and former member of the federal Senior Executive Service (SES) with more than two decades of leadership experience leading complex, high-pressure programs and organizations. As a senior leader at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Angela led national efforts involving disaster recovery, resilience, mitigation, organizational transformation, risk management, and stakeholder coordination across federal, state, local, nonprofit, academic, and community partners.

Today, Angela works with leaders navigating complexity, organizational change, transition, and high-pressure environments. Her coaching and leadership development approach integrates emotional intelligence, systems thinking, adaptive leadership, resilience, and practical operational experience to help leaders strengthen self-awareness, communication, decision-making, and organizational alignment.

Throughout her career, Angela has partnered with academic institutions, interdisciplinary teams, and mission-driven organizations navigating uncertainty, competing priorities, and organizational change. She also brings experience integrating coaching and leadership development strategically within organizations and has personally experienced leadership coaching as a client, shaping a practical, human-centered coaching philosophy.

Angela founded The AG Effect after making a deliberate decision to align her work more fully with her values and passion for leadership development. What is The AG Effect?

At the heart of The AG Effect is a simple, powerful idea:
Authenticity and Growth are the twin engines of courageous leadership.

But they don’t operate on their own.

They are sustained by what leaders build around and within themselves — support and sponsorship, well-being, and psychological safety. These are not extras. They are the conditions that make leadership possible.

Because leadership doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens in complex, imperfect systems, where expectations are high, alignment is partial, and the path forward isn’t always clear.

It is about being grounded enough to stay aligned with your values, supported enough to navigate risk and uncertainty, and safe enough — individually and collectively — to keep learning, adapting and leading with intention.

Whole-Leader Focus

Because how you lead is shaped by how you think, feel and show up in hard moments.

The AG Effect is a space for reflection, not performance. A partnership grounded in presence, not pressure. A place to lead from truth - not titles.  This is about strengthening how you lead in the moments that matter most. Whether you're navigating burnout, change, or the quiet sense that something no longer fits — this is a space to pause, think clearly, and realign with what is important, so you can move forward with intention in environments that don’t make it easy.

Beyond the Bio

The AG Effect name reflects my initials — and my daughter’s — as well as the ripple effect of authentic leadership.

Outside of coaching, I find peace in national parks, joy in daily walks with my dogs Rufus and Copper, and strength in the quiet moments that remind me who I am. I’m married to my partner of 25 years, Jerry, and the proud mom of two young adults, Alice and Scott. We now live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

This is the second curve of my career — and I’m building it with purpose.

Ready to Reconnect with How You Want to Lead?

You don’t have to figure it out all at once. But you can begin here — with clarity, courage, and support that’s aligned with who you are.
